 (A) Identification of projects and allocation methodology                                                    03


2.2.4.A.1 Project allocation process

·         Before commencement of 5th semester, all the faculty members are requested to submit the list of projects which they intend to offer the final year students.

·         The compiled list is displayed on the notice board.

·         Students can select project title from this list based on their interest.

·         University Syllabus also provide project titles and students can select their project from that list based on their interest.

·         At the beginning of the semester, students are addressed by their project mentors and procedure for project selection and various aspects of Project implemented by GTU are explained.

·         Generally, two or three project mentors are allocated per batch.

·         Students are also motivated to go through various problem statements given by different sectors of society for hackathon event conducted by government of Gujarat and visit the industry during semester break to find the industrial problems for their academic project.

·         Students are also encouraged to work on their own unique ideas.

·         Project proposal is presented to all project mentors with their idea and mapping with POs & PSOs. If Project is not properly justified with POs and PSOs, then that project topic is rejected.

·         After careful examination of the idea presented by the teams of students, final allocation of project done by project mentors in consultation with HOD.

Implementation details for Projects:

·     Generally academic term of each semester has 14 weeks and university provides suggestive work distribution of project for entire semester which may vary from project to project which is shown below.

·         Students are briefed about the objectives, outcomes and specific outcomes of the projects and steps to be followed by their project mentors.

·         Identification of Project: Either student came with their own project title from their area of interest or they select project title from project list prepared by project mentors or from the university syllabus.

·         Projects are allocated on first come first serve bases when required.

·         While finalizing the project topic, Projects having innovation component are advised to apply for SSIP grant for making prototype.

·         Internal evaluation is carried out by respective project mentors during the semester as per the instructions given by university.

·         Students have to prepare report of their project as per the guidelines provided by university.

·         Final university evaluation by external faculty at the end of semester.
